Under the purview of the Office of Nuclear Energy,
Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID), the Idaho National
Laboratory (INL) is home to the largest concentration of
technical professionals in the Rocky Mountain region.
The INL is the DOE’s lead nuclear energy laboratory and
is responsible for the development of advanced nuclear
fuels, materials and system designs and nuclear fuel
cycle technologies. The INL also supports numerous
national and homeland security programs and a portfolio
of other environmental, energy and technology projects
of national interest.
The role of the DOE’s Idaho Operations Office is to
oversee laboratory operations, ensuring that operations
and research activities are carried out safely, and in
compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and
contract provisions. DOE-ID specializes in procurement
services, contract management and in the oversight of
compliance with contract requirements.
